MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has requested the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct parallel investigation into the stabbing inside the New Bilibid Prison on Thursday.
In separate letters both dated January 2 and addressed to NBI Directed Jaime Santiago and PNP Chief Rommel Marbil, BuCor Officer-in-Charge Al Perreras said parallel investigation is necessary “to further establish facts, promote transparency, and determine accountability.”
